How charging works
When you book a babysitter on MinuteMayhem, you pay two clearly itemized amounts:
- The sitter's hourly rate — set by each babysitter and shown on their profile. Rates vary by experience, qualifications, and location.
- A MinuteMayhem service fee of 15% — calculated on the booking subtotal. This fee supports background checks, secure payments, customer support, and platform safety features.
The full total — hourly rate, hours booked, and the 15% service fee — is shown to you before you confirm a booking. Payments are billed securely by card through Stripe; MinuteMayhem never stores your card details.

When am I charged?
Your payment method is charged when a booking is confirmed. You'll see the full total — the sitter's hourly rate plus the 15% service fee — before you confirm, so there are no surprises. If a booking is cancelled, refunds are handled according to our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The only charges are the sitter's hourly rate and the 15% MinuteMayhem service fee, both shown clearly before you confirm. There are no subscription fees, no booking fees beyond the service fee, and no charges you haven't already seen.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through Stripe. Your card information is handled by Stripe and is never stored on MinuteMayhem's servers.
Why do sitter rates differ?
Each babysitter sets their own hourly rate based on their experience, certifications (such as CPR or newborn care), and local market. You can review each sitter's rate on their profile before booking.
How do I get a refund?
